We are seeking a detail-oriented Code Review Specialist to join our dedicated team serving municipalities and ensuring the highest standards in building permit review, inspections, and internal quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Review commercial building permit applications for compliance with local, state, and federal building codes.
- Conduct detailed inspections and evaluations of architectural and structural plans.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and municipal officials to resolve code compliance issues.
- Perform internal QA/QC of design documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project and regulatory standards.
- Maintain detailed records of reviews, inspections, and QA/QC processes.
- Stay current with the latest building codes, zoning laws, and safety standards.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to ensure code adherence throughout project development.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of building codes, standards, and inspection procedures related to commercial construction.
- Prior experience in code review, building inspection, or related roles in the construction or architectural industry.
- Strong understanding of architectural and engineering drawings.
- Experience with QA/QC processes for design documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Professional certifications such as ICC, CBCP, or equivalent are a plus.
- Professional licensure of Architecture or Engineering are a plus.
